Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my visit is covered by insurance?
+
Woolbrook Dental accepts many insurance plans, including Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP), United Concordia's Tricare and private insurance plans, such as Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, and United Healthcare. If you’re unsure of your coverage, contact our staff.
Can I use Medicaid dental coverage?
+
Yes! We accept Medicaid. We also accept State Children's Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP) and United Concordia's Tricare.
How is the best way to prepare for an appointment?
+
Always bring your photo ID and insurance card if you plan to utilize your coverage. It is also important to have the personal information of the patient receiving care on hand, including their social security number, birthday, and date of birth.
How can I help my child know what to expect during their visit?
+
Take a confident and open approach to talking to your child about the dentist. Make sure that they understand that the dentist is there to help them stay healthy and safe and explain the various parts of a typical dentist visit. Many families find it helpful to use media, such as books or videos, to help their child imagine their appointment or to practice an imaginary visit. Be a good example; stay calm and don’t say anything that would make your child. Allow your child to bring a favorite toy or stuffed animal to help them feel more comfortable during their appointment.
How is a child’s dental visit different from an adult’s?
+
Your child’s appointment will be much like your own. The dentist will take time to explain each step to your child in understandable, age-appropriate language. Both you and your child will have ample opportunity to ask questions. Our staff will see to your child’s care and, in some cases, will offer local as an option for making your child comfortable.
How much does a visit cost?
+
Your costs will vary based on your insurance coverage and the services provided. It’s not uncommon for preventative care to be covered completely by your insurance plan, although some plans will require a co-pay. Contact our office for a free estimate.
Do I need to stay in the room during my child’s appointment?
+
While most parents prefer to stay with their child, some parents find it easier to wait for their child in the reception area. Talk to our staff during your visit and we’ll help you decide what’s best for you and your child.
